The CWDM allows for great flexibility by increasing the capacity of existing fiber infrastructure eliminating the need to lay new fiber at a full capacity location.
GAO Fiber Opticsâ€â„¢ flexible CWDM is characterized by low insertion loss, wide passband, high channel isolation, high stability and reliability and an epoxy free optical path. It operates within the wavelength range of 1260nm to 1620nm at a 20nm channel spacing. Encapsulated within a non-flux metal bonding micro optic case, the multiplexer performs stably even in demanding environments. Since the wavelengths are relatively far apart compared with DWDM, the multiplexer is a cost-effective solution for Metro Access and Metro Core/Regional network environments where emphasis is on network nodes with fairly short spans.
