Canadian measurement metrology's high technology Centre in Ayr Ontario (near Cambridge) has been open now for two years, providing our customers with high-technology solutions for complex measurement and reverse engineering problems.
In the last two years we added many new high-technology pieces of equipment to complement our measuring machines. We now have capability on all our machines to utilize the Renishaw SP 25 scanning probe system. This allows us to use styli up to 400 mm long, without any degradation of accuracy or lobing error commonly associated with trigger probing. The benefits to customers are more accurate diameters and form measurements.
For a high accuracy laser scanning we have added 2 Metris scanners that fit Renishaw PH 10 robotic heads. This allows us fully automatic scanning with accuracies far better than White Light systems and manual or a handheld scanners. We are getting reliable results in the 20 µ range on components that previously could only be measured with touch probes.
We have also added a multisensor vision machine to our CMM inventory. The unit an OGP Avant, with a capacity of 450 mm by 600 mm gives us the ability to measure parts that regular CMM's cannot. Everything from small electrical components, printed circuit boards, small plastic injection molded parts, and high precision machine parts - all using a noncontact CCD sensor.
For those who are not familiar with our Measuring Centre; We feature the following CMMs: A DEA Delta Gantry 25.50.15./ DEA Ghibli 12.22.10./ Zeiss Prismo 710./Leitz PMM 18.10.10. This gives us a range of capability like no other measurement services company.
We also have a full complement of portable measuring machines that allow us to come to your plant or worksite. Our portable measuring machines consist of two Romer seven axis arms (8ft and 10ft) complete with Perceptron V4 and V5 laser scanners. These provide us with unlimited on-site capability. Our Leica PCMM ( tracker) features the remarkable T probe that allows us to use the tracker like a CMM. In fact, what this does is cut down measuring time commonly associated with standard trackers by 50 to 80 per cent. This affords our customers tremendous cost savings. For large scanning jobs the Leica is also equipped with a Steinbichler laser scanner. This is given us the ability to measure everything from large fixtures and castings to entire aircraft.
