CCE‘s Interop Technology Keeps Pace with SolidWorks
ODX Libraries updated to support SolidWorks 2011

Farmington Hills, Michigan Dec 01, 2010 CCE, provider of advanced interoperability technology, announces an update to its widely used and proven CAD data access libraries ODX (Open Data eXchange). This update extends ODX/SW to read SolidWorks files of version 2011, and is especially relevant since the update comes close on the heels of the release of SolidWorks 2011 SP0 in mid October

This release reinforces CCE‘s commitment to its customer base to keep its ODX technology updated at all times with support for latest CAD versions. “Besides providing advanced interop functionality and greater performance, our constant focus on keeping our technology up-to-date with support for latest CAD versions, is what sets us apart from competition. It is no surprise therefore that we continue to have some of the largest ISVs in the world as our loyal customers”, says Vinay Wagle, V.P. Sales & Marketing at CCE.

ODX/SW provides read/write access to native SolidWorks files and is independent of SolidWorks CAD system. With this update, applications using ODX/SW can read SolidWorks files from versions 2001 Plus through 2011. ODX is a set of CAD-independent libraries for reading and writing native 3D CAD data. ODX is CCE's proprietary technology and is not based on any third-party libraries. Currently, the only other way to achieve this is by licensing expensive royalty based API's from CAD software OEM's. Apart from the obvious cost disadvantages, CAD OEM's, more often than not, have a stringent partner selection process and do not license API's to potentially competitive software vendors. This makes ODX the ideal technology for 3D CAD access in enterprise applications in the most cost-effective and hassle-free way.

The file formats currently supported include CATIA V4, CATIA V5, NX, SolidWorks, Parasolid, JT, 3D PDF, IGES and STEP. For additional information, please visit http://www.cadcame.com/development-tools/cad-libraries.aspx.
