Toronto, Canada - GAO Comm (www.GAOComm.com) recommends its handheld ADSL tester designed for tier-1 ADSL engineers to test subscriber telephone connectivity line parameters. It automatically detects signal loss, frame loss, power loss and cell loss and is suitable for the installation, testing and maintenance of ADSL equipment. It has a large memory capacity which can store 100 groups of test results and seven pre-defined test settings for quick set up.
This handheld ADSL2+ tester, model 701C, performs measurements of the ADSL physical layer, ADSL network layer and ADSL line. In terms of ADSL physical layer, it tests fast channel and interleave channel, channel speed, line loss, noise margin, transmission power and use rate of channel; it also conducts performance analysis of line errors and alarms. As for ADSL network layer, the versatile tester performs ISP Ping test, computer simulation, LAN Ping test, WAN Ping test, ADSL Modem simulation and PPPoE dialing test. It simulates an ISP acting as an ADSL modem to check the operating performance of a user‘s terminal equipment. For ADSL line testing, the tester is used as a DMM to measure AC/DC voltage, loop resistance, dielectric resistance and capacitance. The easy-to-use ADSL tester communicates with a computer via a serial port so that data can be uploaded for storage, analysis or printing.
