IIM Lucknow‘s INDEX 2010 focuses on marketing research activities and raising social awareness on AIDS
IIM Lucknow‘s 16th edition of the biggest marketing research event of the country, INDEX 2010, was abuzz with lot of activities like street play on Road Safety, a concert on AIDS awareness, marketing research activities, games, fashion show and Rock Show at Colvin Taluqdar College, Lucknow.
There were many game stalls being put up by the students of IIM Lucknow for the city people, who were clearly enjoying every bit of it. Apart from the market research stalls, the two day event offered a lot more for the general public.
The day started with Lucknow Idol to find the singing sensation of the city. Several other informal activities such as Mimicry, Housie, and Balloon Shaving etcetera took place throughout the day, keeping the crowd excited and entertained. Crowd was especially appreciative of the Street Plays on the issue of Road Safety, which was conducted by Index as part of its CSR initiatives. The evening was set ablaze with the wonderful dance performances by many teams in Footloose, the Choreonite.
However the day‘s highlight was undoubtedly the captivating performance by the internationally renowned exponent of flute, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia under the banner of SPICMACAY. Index organized this show as part of the Star Nite, in collaboration with SPICMACAY IIM Lucknow chapter. The performance by Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia was a big crowd puller.
Pandit Chaurasia‘s concert was dedicated to spreading awareness on AIDS. Panditji started his concert with the message “Rog se grihna karein, rogi se nahi†and also conveyed the same through his music. Uttar Pradesh State Aids Control Society (UPSACS) conducted the event in association with INDEX, IIM Lucknow. Continuing with this noble message, street plays on AIDS awareness were also organized
The second day of the informal events included exciting games like Brick Race, 3 legged race, ladies arm wrestling and Tol Mol ke Bol apart from many others. The ramp was set on fire by the Youngistan of Lucknow in Fuzon, the Fashion Parade, which was followed by the popular Mr. and Mrs. Index contest. The IIM Lucknow students continued to entertain the people with their games and in the process learning invaluable marketing lessons, which will shape the marketing strategies of the biggest names in India‘s corporate world.
“Last year we had a footfall of over 15,000 people and as per our estimates, observing the huge turnout yesterday and today, we will easily cross this number by few thousands, if not moreâ€, said Ashish, coordinator of the event, commenting on the popularity of the fair amidst the Lucknowites.
The event also included a Rock show, with a scintillating performance by bands like DNT, Soul Rebellions and IIM Lucknow‘s own music club 3.4 who kept the crowd mesmerized throughout the three hour show.
