About Manavi Prabha:

Manavi‘s passion for drawing came at a very early age, being influenced by the illustrative style and cartoon work of “Archies comics” specially the character Jughead.

Manavi studied art throughout her formal education. She earned a Bachelor in Art degree in Drawing and Painting in the year 1995 and received a Gold Medal award for her Masters in Art degree in the year 1998. She is presently pursuing a Ph. D. (Research work on “Child Art- Art and its importance”).

Manavi also trained professionally and took a Diploma in commercial Art from Delhi Polytechnic and a Diploma in Animation from MAAC besides undertaking a Certificate course on “India: Art and Culture” from National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology. She has also attended various art workshops organised by the likes of FICCI etc.

Manavi‘s early work included illustrating seven books for children published by Bookman India and contributions to various web based digital magazines. She has also drawn story boards for some commercials as a free-lance artist. Earlier she also used to do clay sculptures and was associated with theatre as well.

Manavi made the transition from line to brush in the year 1998 and subsequently got herself associated with Triveni Kala Sangam, Delhi and also became a life member of Dr. PC Barua Art Gallery. Manavi has continued painting out of her own studio in Noida.

Her miniature work is in the collection of Indian Navy, Cochin. In 2006, she won a Special Award for her oil on canvas “The Life” at the art exhibition ´Kala Sangam‘.

Although Manavi says that the computer will never replace the feeling of brush on canvas or pen on paper, her ability to use the tools of both traditional and digital mediums has opened further windows of opportunity for her.
