(12PressRelease.com) Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has rolled out its portable optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) which shows the length, attenuation coefficient, connection point, fault points and loss distribution curves of the fiber as well as loss between two points, slice loss and return loss. This palm-sized OTDR is compatible with CATV, ISP and telecommunication fiber networks. It is an ideal instrument for loss characteristics analysis and fault point location in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks.
This easy-to-use optical time-domain reflectometer, model 2000, provides two curve markers to zoom in and out on curve details and creates a list of fault points. It is equipped with a high resolution LCD screen allowing test results to be displayed clearly. This rugged OTDR offers optional wavelengths including1310nm and 1550nm at an accuracy of ±20nm. With a rapid response time of less than 30s, it is able to finish 50km of fiber measurement in a high S/N ratio. A toolbox is provided to help user analyzing and managing the data collected from this reflectometer.
