Pai Management Institute one of the leading B schools in India drew curtains on the one week cultural extravaganza â€ËœEPISODEâ€â„¢, an icebreaking event between the senior and fresher batches of the institute on July 18, 2010. EPISODE is a yearly event organized by the Literary Cell of TAPMI and provides an opportunity for the seniors to build a working relationship and good rapport with their juniors.
Ms. Simeran Bhasin the Marketing Head of Fastrack and New Brands, Bangalore who is also an alumnus of TAPMI, said â€Å“Episode provides a platform for the students to showcase their skills and talents; it helps the students to build management and team building skills. The activities have been designed keeping in mind the corporate world so that the students do not get stressed out when they step out of TAPMIâ€.
â€Å“Episode provides the first opportunity for the freshers to experiment and experience multi-tasking under a high-pressure scenario. The choice between the fun of working creatively in teams and the tough academic schedule offers an interesting context of work-life balance in a small way, which is expected to be internalised by the students†says Prof. Natarajan, Faculty at TAPMI.
Episode consists of more than 25 events like creative writing, debate, ad making, social skit, poetry writing, music, dance etc that spans over a week. â€Å“It is a great exposure and a thrilling experience which I am sure all of us will cherish throughout our life. The aim of EPISODE is infotainment.†says Ashwin, member of the Literary Committee.
Episode has evolved over a period of time but has kept its core ideas intact. The highlights of the 13th EPISODE in TAPMI were novel competitions like designing of a placement brochure for TAPMI, Creation of a TAPMI video, publishing the best creative writing articles on the TAPMI blog, Campus Photography etc. The theme for this year was â€ËœRealms of Timeâ€â„¢.
A few of the events were Kurukshetra (Debate), Scrabble/Sudoku (Semi-final 1), Signpost (Banner Design),Wordsworth (Poetry), Shipwreck, Social Street play, HR forum, Potpourri, Espirit General Quiz, Smear Thou Face/ Kill Bill (Reverse Episode)etc. Team Pirates, Team Mafia, Team Hippies and Team 4-D are the chosen teams for the 13th EPISODE. Kurukshetra, the debate competition had the topic â€Å“Are Developed Nations Responsible for Environmental Degradation?†to battle out the wits of the freshers.
