Multi-level marketing seems like something that's not terribly hard.

You join and quickly build your downline, then they do the same - everyone sells a few things and you receive great commissions. But - the thing to understand is that no business is really an "easy" business. Multi level marketing (MLM) is one of those business ventures that is a lot more complicated than it seems. On the other hand, like any other business, if you're willing to do what's necessary to succeed, then you should do fine and be successful. And it's really one of the most popular and well-known online businesses to do.

Ok... read on to see what this is about and how you can do it.

Teach your recruits, but never do their work for them. You're like the mother, after you show them you have to let them go so they can live in this business. If you do their jobs for them, they will never learn how to make money for you on their own. You want to be a strong leader for them, encourage them to follow your examples as well. Anything different and you're just doing affiliate marketing with some extra duties associated with MLM. If you want to be a leader and prosper in MLM, then do your job as a leader.

Always approach this business as being a serious and real business. Write down your goals and plans before you start trying to make sales or recruit members of your down line. Doing that plus making targets, or goals, will keep you focused and you'll get more done. Hold yourself to your deadlines, and make your goals achievable and realistic. Adhere to a strict schedule, and don't let yourself slack off because that will spell almost certain failure. There really is no substitute for hard work in any business.

You should already realize that pressuring people to join will alienate them, and if they do join they won't produce. Sometimes people will admit that they don't want to be involved anymore, or they want to leave - so just wish them well and let it end. Trying to pressure people to do what they don't want to do never works. In fact, acting that way can hurt you because if word gets out that you're a bully nobody will want to work for you. Your business could be significantly damaged. Be sure to just let people make-up their own minds, express their feelings, and make their own decisions. Your team members will be far more motivated if they chose to work for you all on their own. It's normal to feel a little awkward or even intimidated when you're just beginning. Perhaps you did this because you thought the money would come rolling in. Hopefully you understand and accept that this business requires hard work and persistence. This business is just like any other legitimate online business. The good news is that if you put in the time and effort you could eventually be earning the huge paychecks that were promised to you when you signed up!
